About RCE
Fundamentals first. Players next.
RCE Skills Academy is the parent organization behind the RCE Summer Basketball Day Camp — a program designed around the fundamentals every young player needs to grow.
Our mission
Better basketball fundamentals, in a structured environment kids enjoy.
We believe great basketball habits come from structured repetition, age-appropriate coaching, and a fun, organized environment. The RCE Summer Basketball Day Camp is built around that — nine themed weeks that move a player forward without the pressure of external competition.
We serve families across Huntsville, Madison, and the surrounding North Alabama communities. RCE North is our active summer camp location.
In our DNA
A fundamentals-first approach
Every drill, every week, every camp is built around fundamental skill development. We don't run a tournament camp. We don't run an "elite-only" track. We run a camp that helps 7–14 year olds get meaningfully better at the core skills of the game.
How we run camp
What you can expect from a week at RCE
Structured, themed weeks
Every week has a clear focus area, with drills and progressions designed to build on each other.
Age-appropriate coaching
Drill progressions are scaled for 7–14 year olds. "Advanced" weeks emphasize skill complexity, not prerequisites.
Clear communication
Parents know what's happening, when, and why. Schedule changes, weather, and progress are all communicated clearly.
Fundamentals only
No championships, no tournaments, no external pressure. Just the skills that make the game fun and rewarding.
Take-home progress
Players leave with cues and drills they can keep practicing. The work doesn't stop on the last day of camp.
Family-friendly
Reasonable hours, predictable routines, and a parent information flow designed around busy summer schedules.
